BATAVIA, NY – The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) board of directors approved a final resolution for a $6.3 billion data center at the Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) in the town of Alabama. STREAM US Data Centers, LLC will build a 900,000 square foot facility on 59 acres creating 122 new jobs with estimated annual salaries between $80,000 and $120,000.

In approving STREAM US Data Center’s application for incentives, the GCEDC board referenced the recommendation from the STAMP Committee and the GCEDC staff and technical team based on various considerations, including the number of good-paying jobs that would be created, the footprint of the project and impacts on the local community.

“The project with the least environmental impact to the STAMP site while enabling the future potential of the STAMP site was STREAM US Data Centers which allows us to continue our focus on bringing advanced manufacturing and semiconductor supply chain companies to STAMP,” said GCEDC President and CEO Mark Masse. “We appreciate all the hard work by the Board and the town of Alabama that went into the review of the three data center applications, including the public comments.”

As part of the $6.3 billion investment by STREAM US Data Centers, LLC, the company is seeking a sales tax exemption estimated at approximately $462.5 million and $9 million in mortgage tax exemption. The project is estimated to generate $218.4 million in local revenues over 20 years.

“This project is a win-win for Genesee County and the town of Alabama as it will generate significant revenues of which a portion will be committed to much needed water infrastructure work that further positions us for continued economic growth,” added Masse.
