GCEDC Success Story: LandPro Equipment Uses Workforce Partnerships to Grow New Facility
With the cutting of a red ribbon and a fleet of green and yellow John Deeres, LandPro Equipment celebrated the grand opening of its brand-new $10 million regional training, sales, and support campus in Genesee County in May 2023.
The 53,000-square-foot facility is located on 14 acres in the Town of Batavia and will serve as a central hub for training and operations in the western New York region.
“The Genesee County Economic Development Center has been an instrumental partner in making this project come to fruition; their team stepped up to ensure LandPro Equipment was well positioned to succeed in the community,” said Tom Sutter, President and CEO of LandPro Equipment.
LandPro joins growing partnership of GCEDC & workforce-focused employers
The success of LandPro is the latest in a series of state-of-the-art facilities constructed in Genesee County with the support of the GCEDC.
Seeing the dedication of LandPro Equipment to the Genesee County community as the company grows to over 60 workers is another example of how the GCEDC finds solutions as homegrown companies reach their full potential.
We were alongside the company throughout the process of building a new training facility that will welcome a new generation of technician and mechanical talent to LandPro Equipment. The GCEDC takes an active role in preparing our youth for future job opportunities through successful youth engagement and training programs and events.
LandPro's Investments in Youth Engagement Create Success
After the official kickoff of GLOW With Your Hands: Manufacturing in 2019, LandPro Equipment was one of the first local companies to step up as a sponsor and exhibitor. Representatives from the company lead hands-on activities, which has resulted in memorable experiences for thousands of students getting real-life experience with LandPro Equipment’s staff and John Deere equipment.
"LandPro Equipment and the dozens of companies that sponsor and exhibit at GLOW With Your Hands, and make these investments in youth are embracing the national workforce challenge with local solutions," said Chris Suozzi, GLOW With Your Hands: Manufacturing Co-Chair.
Our relationship with LandPro Equipment demonstrates how the GCEDC goes above and beyond to ensure companies growing or relocating to Genesee County have the tools they need to succeed.
