ACT WorkKeys

The Genesee County Economic Development Center and Genesee Gateway Local Development Corporation are engaged with business, education and training leaders to prepare students for in-demand careers in Genesee County.

With the launch of an ACT® WorkKeys® testing center at Genesee Valley BOCES, more students and adults in Genesee County will soon have nationally recognized certificates to assist with their career growth.

ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate

“It’s going to be nice for people to put on paper what you know in your head… you can have a (standardized testing) score for college, but this will give you a score for real jobs coming out of high school.”

The message shared by Timothy Lonnen, a graduating senior at Pavilion High School, demonstrated what students completing ACT WorkKeys assessments gain in addition to National Career Readiness Certificates.

ACT Work Ready Community

Genesee County, NY has already achieved the first milestone in our ACT Work Ready Communities campaign. Over 100 employers with business in Genesee County recognize the NCRC as a demonstration of a candidate’s work ready skills.

Genesee County will complete our certification as an ACT Work Ready Community with the completion of Act WorkKeys by 294 current students, 143 transitioning workers, and 65 current workers.
