Liberty Pumps Named Economic Development Partner of the Year

Award to be presented at annual Stakeholder Luncheon

BATAVIA, NY – The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) has announced that Liberty Pumps will receive its Economic Development Partner of the Year award on April 24 at the GCEDC’s annual Stakeholder Luncheon.

The award honors Liberty Pumps as the Town of Bergen manufacturer celebrates 60 years in business. GCEDC President & CEO Mark Masse credited Liberty Pumps for creating a strong culture and a lasting positive impact in Bergen and Genesee County.

“For six decades, Liberty Pumps has been a model for how to manufacture high-quality products, ” Mark Masse said. “Liberty Pumps initial investment at Apple Tree Acres led the way for a fully occupied manufacturing and logistics hub, funding for local services, and careers that reward the talents of our workforce.”

The GCEDC has supported Liberty Pumps across multiple expansions in Bergen, most recently the 2023 completion of a $13.5 million, 110,000 square-foot Materials Center.

Charlie Cook, Liberty Pumps board chairman, will accept the Economic Development Partner of the Year award on behalf of the company’s 330 members.

Previous Economic Development Partners of the Year honors have celebrated the contributions of the Town and Village of Bergen, Empire State Development, the Town of Pembroke, HP Hood, Genesee Valley BOCES, the Town of Alabama, National Fuel, the Town of Batavia and City of Batavia and the Batavia Development Corporation, Genesee County, Genesee Community College, and National Grid.
